Who’s pumping fats?

Your choice of kitchen wares may lead you to pump more fats into your body. The style of your glass, the size of your plate and the colors of your bowl may seduce you to overeat. Lighting and temperature is said to cause any person to overeat also. If I can’t make it sound so obvious, you may not make your meal and ambience too comfortable to help you indulge eating more than what is required. So instead of candles and flowers as centerpiece, you may want to try a bunch of seasonal fruits or veggies in a bowl. Let us try if this is effective with us.

Zone diet, helping people manage weight

Zone diet recommends a simple hand eyeball method measuring carbohydrates, protein, and fats the easy way. Many people are not successful with their diet plans because they get weary counting calories and reading food labels. Measuring becomes easy with the Zone diet plan because what you are going to do is to measure everything by the plate or by your hand. Measure it by the size of your hand which is relative to the size of your body. Your protein portion at each meal shall be measured by the size and thickness of your palm. Carbohydrates can be determined by curling your hands into 2 loose fists. Fats equal the size of your thumb. Quickest way is to give it a “thumbs up”. The aim is to maintain the ideal ratio of 40-30-30 for carbohydrates, proteins and fats respectively.

I am doing this now, slowly of course, I can’t discipline myself not to eat much when food looks great. But never mind me, I just want to share the best found that I had two weeks ago for dieters. Eat your meal or snack within an hour after waking. Try to eat frequent small meals whether you are hungry or not like every 4 to 6 hours after a meal or 2 to 2 ½ hours after a snack. Guys I am really interested with this because it is the simplest diet plan I’ve encountered in my research that is good for diabetics too. So eat 5 times a day like 3 meals and 2 snacks, hungry or not, remember that. And also try not to beat yourself gnawing food every now and then because your next meal or snack can absolutely get you right back on track.

All Zone meals begin with protein. And of course never forget to do the basic which is drinking 8 glasses of water everyday. Best daily supplement to partner the diet plan is a highly purified Omega 3 concentrate. Omega 3 concentrates are extremely powerful in inflammation control, twice as strong as and 100 times more pure than fish oils. It satisfies hunger and is ideal for weight loss, men, women, and children’s health. It helps burn excess fat, slow the aging process and a good defense from risk on chronic disorders. And lastly, never forget exercise. You don’t have to go to a gym to do this. Walk from the train station to the grocery store or from office to the grocery store. Walking is a no cost perfect form of daily exercise.

What impresses me with Zone diet meal plan?

According to Sears, excess insulin is the cause of skyrocketing rates on obesity triggered by eating too much carbohydrates and too much food intake. The diet keeps insulin levels from rising too high by replacing some of the carbs with fat and protein. It is designed to prevent blood sugar levels (or insulin levels) from going too high or too low. Good for diabetics eh?

This will ultimately result in increased fat loss, decreased likelihood of cardiovascular disease, and greater mental performance. This will eventually improve every chronic disease condition and improve physical performance. The theory of the Zone diet goes like if you eat small meals with the correct ratio of protein, carbohydrates and fats, then your body will be able to balance your hormones and insulin levels.

So eliminate your old dieting plans of almost starving yourselves and start the Zone plan. You don’t need to be a member to follow it. Just remember the hand eyeball method, know your food groups, and make a list of the usual carbohydrates, fats, and proteins that you are taking. Well if you get lazy, just read more of my blogs sometime. I am always eager to make the research because we are also a family of diabetics and I have a chronic back pain, slip discs. Keep on reading then.
